the kpop idol finsta complex

remember that post i made months ago that mentioned how i'm nosy and through lurking on other people being more nosy and insane than i am i found a male idol's finsta and a scandal that was waiting to happen????? well it happened. again. except it's just me and there's no scandal but i feel guilty and need to get it out like someone confessing to a sin at a church.
okay so a few months ago i was going through all these different kpop idols' back up dancers' instagrams because i like looking at the behind the scenes of entertainment stuff and seeing what backup dancers or dancers in general post is interesting to me because it's different to being a singer or rapper like you're a performer and you help create the perfect performance but you're not even really famous LIKE IT'S SO INTERESTING they're always just in the shadows working their magic. also i would stalk a squirrel on instagram if it worked in the kpop industry.
so i'm scrolling through this backup dancers' instagram following list and come across an instagram username that's almost identical to this male idol's instagram and i'm thinking in my head "c'mon that's insane there's no way it'd be out there in the open like that, maybe it's a coincidence" and then i scroll further to see said backup dancer follows that idol's actual millions-of-followers instagram account and has danced with him a million times so they're definitely close enough for the backup dancer to follow the idol's finsta. but out in the open???? LIKE THIS?????????
i forgot about this until a few days ago and then it's like the universe heard me because a tumblr blog i follow who is a fan of this idol answered an ask about it (i didn't know this was something other people were aware of, although i'm sure it's not that many, so i was very spooked) that said the username had changed so i checked and yup it's changed to something a lil more subtle. but wow. this whole thing is making me wonder "do kpop idols just make their finsta usernames close to their public usernames because no one really suspects a thing?". i know lee soohyuk, the actor's, is similar to his own. hardly know the dude, just remember when hoshi tagged his finsta when he posted an instagram story with him (and on that note hoshi let me into your finsta please let's be friends). then again, maybe it's just a lee soohyuk and this-male-idol thing and others' stay way more under wraps. that's probably the case.
interesting revelations and learning outcomes.
