vernon's musical influences
Aug. 7th, 2022 10:22 pmthis post... isn't gonna be that cohesive. i don't know what i'm trying to say here like i'm trying to make a point and it's just not working so i'm gonna collate everything i think connects together and then see if it works.
as everyone is aware, vernon is very open about his fav artists, he's always sharing these whether it be through the spotify playlists each member used to put out during a comeback, his weverse or instagram stories or even the occasional vlive. however, maybe i'm just stuck in my own little vernon ult in a sea of every other member ult bubble but i feel like it isn't discussed enough how vernon's fav artists inspire him deeply and this is reflected so heavily in the music he works on, both solo and svt wise (i also wonder if this is the case with other members, where you can just tell they were inspired by a particular artist, and i just haven't noticed it because, once again, i'm stuck in my vernon ult bubble but whatever) and yada yada yada. OR, A THEORY: he specifically recommends artists/songs that are reminiscent of the songs he has been working on in order to tease, get the audience ready (although i don't know if he's that calculated and forward thinking wait no that sounds mean i'm sorry).
i'm gonna jot down some songs, his fav artists/songs he recommended around that period and connect the dots. i'm not gonna cover earlier stuff because not gonna lie his music taste wasn't as refined back then (i mean he was literally a twenty one pilots stan, and so was i in 2015, but jesus) as well as the point that he wasn't so involved in production in the early years. there's also some which i literally can't tell the influence so they won't be mentioned. the inner machinations of vernon's mind are an enigma.
