openthetimequeens of drag race season 16 current thoughts.
writing this after finishing episode 4... can i just say this season is very much giving in the drama department like we're so back!!!!!!! also i wrote significantly less than last year's round-up, not sure why my brain stopped working but it is what it is.
eliminated queens first:
hershii liqcour-jete:
a pretty obvious early out but idk i really liked her personality like yaaaasss she's fun! also i'm pretty sure she actually has a ballroom background so her going on the mother ball episode is pretty devastating.
mirage:
i wasn't as hyped about her as everyone else (i just feel like there's not much to do with this vegas showgirl aesthetic, i feel similarly about kahanna. she's also pretty timid) but she'll be sorely missed like that is a performer. she's pretty too like the makeup is giving (other than that one time in the werkroom, you know the one).

i thought she'd be the first out like okay she flips... now what? she's timid like mirage but a lot less interesting like i'm just not feeling her.

kinda endearing in a way but i also am not really feeling her. not much to say.

i forget that she's even there. one thing about the house of muse.... idrc and it's nothing to really gag over. i hope she steps it up though because this is now 3 queens still here that i'm not really feeling and the house of muse has big personality-boots to fill.

everyone was clowning her for her "protect queer art" talent show piece and i get it but IDKKKKKKK i kinda like her (much like how i was with aiden zhane in season 12 for some terrible reason). like even though the reveal wasn't a reveal i totally get what she was going for and it was gorgeous otherwise. cosplay queen is such a Box though.

giving in the confessionals and shady responses, her face is top tier but hmmmmm i dunno! something's not hitting the mark! i'm not completely sold!

queens keep implying that she's a cunt but i can't tell if they're joking or not. anyways she was one of my first favs but her drag makeup can get a bit samey so i hope she somehow wins me back a bit. she's one of my tops otherwise though, real cute.

SHE'S SO FUNNNNNNNNNN like she's giving us everything other than makeup and looks kinda like she's really crunchy there. everything else is kinda perfect though like she's so likeable it's great but also when she gives her shady confessionals sometimes her facial expressions are giving axe murderer like WOAH!!!!!!!

the counterpart to ATM's giving us everything (as in drama) except she's a bit of a bitch and i really was not feeling her her first episode. she seems to have toned it down a little like idk she's grown on me, like mould, but i feel like her looks are a bit overrated other than this week's cher look. her shady persona is so fake and dumb like girl stop it you're not doing it.

she really is jan 2.0, huh... wanted to root for her at the beginning but her personality (or the edit?) makes it kinda hard. notably though her makeup in the cher challenge was such an eat and i like her aesthetic generally.

okay honestly she's also giving jan and i find it funny that her drag name is the same as a kpop idol's stage name, sorry for the brainrot. but WOW what a fashion queen like yes this was needed. something about her face is funny to me. not in like a mean, ugly way oh god no it's something about the way she stretches it. not sure why this sticks out to me about her but eh.
